Commission your own ‘supersize’ single
Do you have a favourite old single you'd like 'supersized'? Drop in to the gallery Tues-Fri afternoons to discuss commssioning your very own ‘original‘ 45
Remember the thrill of buying a new single when discs were black not silver? Or the smell of opening an old record case full of 45’s?
Since British Artist Morgan Howell last exhibited at Williams Art his work has seen a meteoric rise. Now a permanent fixture in the Radio 2 green room, alongside Sir Elton John’s piano, his giant 45s nestle amongst the famous guests waiting to go on air.
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Neil Diamond, Ozzy Osbourne, Huey Morgan, Michael Parkinson, Al Murray and countless music industry people have bought his work. His painting of ‘It’s All Over Now’ by the Rolling Stones was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and given the rare honour of being signed on the back by Mick and Keith of the Rolling Stones. And his Beatles ‘Apple’ pairing of Hey Jude and Revolution were auctioned at Abbey Road Studios raising £20,000 for Cancer Research.
Now you can buy one.
Original paintings and ‘supersize’ prints are 68cm (27 inches)square, almost 4 times larger than the singles. They are supplied in white box frames measuring 82cm square
Original paintings are available of Brown Sugar (The Rolling Stones) and the double A-side Apple label of The Beatles’ Get Back / Don’t Let Me Down

The British press has been unanimous in its praise of Morgan’s glorious and unashamedly nostalgic artwork.
Dylan Jones, The Independent:
“Vinyl is returning to my life in a big way, in the form of Morgan Howell. ‘Ziggy Stardust’ by David Bowie (RCA), the one I bought, will soon be staring down at me from my study wall. Vinyl. It's back. In a big way.”
MOJO Magazine:
“Rarely has the MOJO office been so galvanised than when Morgan Howell popped in to show us his Supersized Singles. These 27-inchers are paintings, rendered on canvas, translating every idiosyncrasy of the best-loved singles in Morgan’s collection, from the photo-realistic recreation of the label (swoon at the loving recreations of the classic Decca and Brunswick logos!) to the corner crumples of the paper sleeve.
“It’s enough to provoke a Proustian rush even if you don’t own the original Vertigo 45 of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid. The 3D quality is uncanny, just like an original single has been blown up with some science-fiction enlargement machine and plonked on your wall.”
Classic Rock Magazine:
“Accurate and oversized recreations of some of the greatest single releases of the 50s, 60s and 70s, it really has to be seen to be believed and will look awesome on any wall!”
“Getting old makes you think deeply about what it is exactly that makes you… you.
These pieces of scratched vinyl wrapped in wrinkly faded paper make up quite a lot of me, Turns out I’m not alone. So I thought it might be fun to paint them”.
