Shifting Horizons

Joanna Autumn Walker

This exhibition explores the flight of the unconscious and the mythic imagination in a collection of surreal atmospheric images.

The digital fine art printmaking fuses photography, 3D modelling and digital painting to form enigmatic landscapes and transient figurative works.

Metamorphosis is a series of panoramas based on a metaphysical understanding of transformative nature, blurring depth and shifting horizons, fragility and solidity.

Pervading the work is an exploration of intangible thresholds and the manipulation of the perception of space. The digital imagery resides in the ambiguity of the virtual and real, the figurative and abstract.

Joanna Autumn Walker is a new media artist based in Cambridgeshire. Her artistic practice ranges from digital fine art printmaking, photography, 3D animation, video art and interactive video installation. As well as being a regular exhibitor at Williams Art, Joanna’s work has been exhibited internationally, in Asia, Europe and the U.S, including a 6 month fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Media, Art and Science in Japan.

All images are printed on Hannemuhle Bright White 310gsm Photo Rag Paper using Epson Ultrachrome Inks
